MaxAim - looking to recruit graduate trainee
MaxAim LLP is a fast growing professional services firm providing strategic and financial management advice to clients ranging from entrepreneurial businesses to FTSE 250 companies and private equity houses. The main services provided include interim CFO assignments, financial due diligence, and debt advisory work.
The team currently comprises four Partners and one member of staff. The Partners have all worked in ‘Big 4’ Corporate Finance and Banking in addition to holding senior positions in industry.
Since formation in January 2010 the firm has grown rapidly and is now looking to recruit a bright, ambitious, self-motivated and commercially astute graduate to support the Partners in a number of areas within the business.
The Role – “Graduate trainee”
As you will be joining a small, growing business you will get involved in all aspects of our operation, from strategy development to operational execution. You will need to be able to think strategically but also be prepared to get your sleeves rolled up as required. The successful candidate will be attracted by the broad range of experience they will gain in this role, which will include:
- Sales and Marketing – Working with the partners to monitor, develop and enhance the sales and marketing activity and having primary responsibility for execution. This will include: organising client events; maintaining our client contacts database; keeping the website up to date; drafting news articles and blogs; organising newsletters e-mailshots.
- Financial management – Supporting the partners in all aspects of the finance function, including: producing monthly management accounts and key performance indicators; credit control; managing relationships with suppliers.
- Office management – Ensuring that all aspects of the office run smoothly at all times, thereby ensuring that the partners can devote their time to client service activities. This will include practice management, IT administration, and PA support.
You will report directly into one of the four partners but will liaise closely with all the partners, chairman and other staff. This is a key role within our organisation and offers the successful candidate great exposure to business decision making at a strategic and operational level.
The Candidate
We are looking for somebody who will not only grow with our business but who will also play an integral part in the continued development of MaxAim, focussing their efforts in the areas of our business that drive the biggest reward. Whilst a business related degree and real-life business experience would be preferable it is not essential. Your personality, drive and commercial acumen is more important to us than your current skills and experience to date.
However, there are some key skills and characteristics that we see as essential for you to succeed. You will:
- be personable and able to form good working relationships with the team and our clients, which range from FTSE 250 PLCs to entrepreneurial owner-managers
- be proactive and self-motivated, able to meet key deadlines without close supervision
- be organised with good project management skills, able to juggle several tasks simultaneously and prioritise as needed.
- have strong written skills, with the ability to draft letters, agendas, minutes, press releases and other key business documents
- be comfortable working with numerous software applications, preferably with knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Salary
We will pay a competitive salary based on the successful candidate’s experience, with the opportunity for a profit related bonus.
